Everything you need to know about T Shirt Printing
What is T Shirt Printing?
T Shirt Printing is essentially putting a Design/Logo on a T shirt in a variety of ways. There are three Types of Printing options you can use at Zevo Global to create a printed T shirt. One of the most commonly selected types is a Digital Printing Transfer with our Roland machines.
T Shirt Printing with Digital Print Transfers
Digital Printing is the most versatile of the T Shirt printing methods. You can print on most fabrics and use nearly any colour you desire. Digital printing is a direct competitor to Screenprinting due to the lowered setup fees, unlimited colours at no extra cost and it doesn’t crack/peel over the lifetime of the garment (if treated correctly).
Our general turnaround time is 2 weeks to complete. The first step in creating a digitally printed T Shirt is uploading your Logo or Design in an .EPS, .AI or vector Pdf file. The next stage is placing the cut lines around your logo in our design software so that our Digital Printer can print and cut. The Design/Logo then has the excess Heat Transfer film weeded out manually to then be placed onto application tape. T shirt is put onto the Heat Press where the Design/Logo is then positioned in the confirmed placement ready for pressing. The T shirt is then pressed for a set amount of time, set temperature and medium to high pressure for the Design/Logo to adhere to the T shirt.
T Shirt Printing with Vinyl Transfers
Vinyl Transfer is another way you can customise your T Shirt. It requires your Design/Logo to be simple and of one colour. The most popular way Vinyl Transfer is used is with Team Names and Numbers. Vinyl Transfer has been a staple in the Custom Apparel Industry for a very long time. In this process you’re required to upload your Design/Logo to us in an .EPS, .AI or vector PDF.
Cut lines are then added around your logo in our design software so that our Digital Printer can cut the Design/logo ready for the weeding process. Your Design/Logo then has the excess Vinyl film weeded out manually. Your T shirt is put onto the Heat Press where the Design/Logo is then positioned in the confirmed placement ready for pressing. It is pressed for a set amount of time, set temperature and high pressure for the Design/Logo to adhere to the T shirt.
T Shirt Printing with Direct to Garment Printing
Direct to garment is another effective form of printing. It is suited for 100% White/Light cotton material. The benefit of DTG is that it prints the ink directly into the cotton giving you a seemless feel/breathability when wearing. We first require your Design/Logo to be uploaded in an .EPS, .AI, Hi res Jpeg or vector PDF.
The next step in producing your DTG T Shirt is to clean up any inperfections in design & size correctly ready for print. We then upload the file to our epson garment printer, prepress the t-shirt then put on the machine ready and print away. Your T shirt is then pressed on the Heat press leaving you with the result of a seamless finish.
If you have any questions regarding uploading files or which T shirt printing process is best for you, please contact us.
